Complete EPC Solution Testing and Commissioning of 132/33/11 KV Star1 & Star2 Substation

This is a 132/33/11 KV, Star1 and Star2 switchgear substation. Working with Sharjah Electricity & Water Authority, Scan Electromechanical provided site development, designed, procurement and installation of SEWA Substation facilities, including the GIS building. The work included installation of two three-phase 230/13-kV transformers and a three-phase 230/69-kV autotransformer; a masonry GIS building with the control room as a second floor above the 69-kV GIS equipment; a 12-cubical 13-kV switchgear, two 230-kV high-pressure fluid filled underground riser structures, three 69kV XLPE riser structures including station light and power transformers; oil containment for the transformers; and protection and controls for the new substation and associated 230 kV and 69 kV lines.

This is one of multiple engineer-procure-construct (EPC) projects Scan Electromechanical completed for SEWA UAE. To facilitate aggressive project schedules, the utility selected the EPC approach to allow parallel scoping, preliminary design, detailed engineering, procurement and construction activities, cutting months from the typical project cycle.
